These terms and conditions govern the London Wildlife Trust National Park City Wildlife Photography Competition. The competition organisers areLondon Wildlife Trust. By accepting the Terms & Conditions of the competition and subsequently submitting your images, you have entered into an agreement with London Wildlife Trust. The organisers reserve the right to modify these terms and conditions without notice.

Competition entry
By entering the competition, you agree to the provisions of these terms and conditions and to comply fully with them.

The competition is open to anyone except those directly involved with the competition and judging (including their families and relatives).

If you are under the age of 16 you must have permission to enter from your parent or guardian. By submitting an entry for the competition, your parent/carer/guardian is deemed to have given such consent and to agree to the use of the entry as described in these terms and conditions.

The competition opens on 28 May 2019 and the closing date for submissions is 24June 2019 at 09:00. All submissions received after this time will not be eligible. Please note that sending is not proof of receipt.

The Organisers cannot be held responsible for submissions that do not arrive due to the entrant’s online security settings or restrictions placed by theirInternet service provider. Your entry must be submitted digitally via this website.

No other forms of entry will be accepted. By submitting images to the National Park City Wildlife Photography Competition, each entrant confirms and warrants that:

1. they are the sole author of each entry and that it is their original work;
2. they own the copyright and any other intellectual property rights of each image;
3. they have the permission of anyone pictured in the image (or, where the image shows any persons under 18, the consent of their parent/guardian) for the usage rights required by London Wildlife Trust and will indemnify London Wildlife Trust against any claims made by any third parties in respect of such infringement;
4. they have not licensed or disposed of any rights in the image that would conflict with uses to be made byLondon Wildlife Trust; and
5. they have received any necessary permissions from the owner(s) of objects including buildings included in submitted images for the usage rights required by London Wildlife Trust and will indemnify LondonWildlife Trust against any claims made by any third parties in respect of such infringement.

What to enter
Photographs may be taken on any device, including mobile phones. It is in your best interest to submit your images as hi-res files without excessive compression. Images must be a minimum of 640 pixels wide and no larger than 10mb

Photos should be submitted in .tiff, .jpeg, .pdf or .png file format only. Please ensure images are uploaded as you wish them to be displayed on the website.

New submissions will be checked within two weeks of submission. Entries must not have been a‘winner’ in any other photographic competition.

All images must have been taken in Greater London only. The organisers reserve the right to disqualify any submissions which are taken outside of this area. A maximum of two entries may be entered per applicant.

No single image may be entered into more than one of the following categories:

· Under 18
·18 or over

An image will be rejected if it appears to have been taken in such a way that wildlife law or animal welfare requirements may have been breached or it has been otherwise taken in an irresponsible way. All plants must be non-cultivated. Domestic pets and farm animals are not eligible, nor are native or exotic wildlife photographed in zoos, sanctuaries, shows and fairs or similar locations. London Wildlife Trust reserves the right to remove or refuse any entries from the competition for any reason.

Judging. A panel of Judges will select images based upon technical skill, diversity, originality and creativity of composition. Judging will be anonymous. Judges will assess entries to establish category winners and commended photographers, and collectively agree the overall competition winner.

The organisers will select judges from a wide interest pool to ensure objectivity is maintained. Digital adjustments are acceptable; however the way in which any digital enhancement or editing has been used will be taken into account when judging the entry. Cropping is allowed. The decision of the organisers is final and no correspondence will be entered into concerning the competition’s judging and organisation.

Announcement of winners
Judges will choose the winners and shortlisted photographers from each category. The judge’s decision is final.The overall winners will be announced by July 2nd 2019 . Winners will be notified by email. An official prize-giving will take place during the run of the exhibition.

Usage Rights
By entering the competition, you grant London Wildlife Trust a non-exclusive, irrevocable licence to reproduce, enlarge, publish or exhibit, on any media, the images for any purpose to further its aims and objectives.

More specifically to use

1.     On display in the National Park City Festival exhibition and all promotional materials relating to the exhibition, including online, social media and physical advertisements and publicity

2.     On National Park City Wildlife Photography Competition website, National Park City Festival and London Wildlife Trust website
3.     In London Wildlife Magazine, London Wildlife Trust literature and social media.
4.     By exhibition partners Greater London Authority, Argent and Museum of London to promote the exhibition and competition on social media, print and physical displays

• The organisers will make every reasonable effort to ensure that name credits are given to any photograph published in any medium

Data Protection
We will only send you information about London Wildlife Trust by email if you have selected to receive this communication (please note: If you are a member of London Wildlife Trust, this selection will not affect your membership communications). We store personal details on our secure data base and never share this information outside of The Wildlife Trusts.

You can easily unsubscribe from emails at any time. Please see our privacy policy for full details. Please refer to the usage rights section for details of how we store and use your photographs.

All personal data and images received as part of the competition will be securely held and used in accordance with the Global Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) 2018. Personal data will be removed and deleted from the system following completion of the competition.

Entrants may request details of all personal information held about them by London Wildlife Trust by contacting Laura Mason ( London Wildlife Trust will collect personal data about entrants at the time of registration, through completion of the entry form, in order to administer the competition and/ or all associated activities. If you select to receive news about the National Park City from the Greater London Authority (GLA), you are providing your consent for the GLA to process your personal data in this manner for this purpose.

The GLA will not add you to any other mailing lists unless you ask them to.

Indemnity and Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, London Wildlife Trust excludes its liability for any loss, damage, injury, cost or expense suffered by you, whether directly or indirectly and howsoever caused, in connection with the competition and use of any prize.

Nothing in these terms and conditions shall exclude London Wildlife Trust’s liability for death or personal injury arising from London Wildlife Trust’s own negligence or any other liability that cannot, as a matter of law, be excluded. You agree to indemnify London Wildlife Trust and keep London Wildlife Trust indemnified against any loss, damage, injury, cost or expense suffered by London Wildlife Trust as a result of your entry in the competition, including (but not limited to) any claim of infringement of intellectual property rights made by any third party.

The information given in these Terms & Conditions is correct, but London Wildlife Trust reserves the right to change any of it without prior notice. By entering the competition, entrants will be deemed to have agreed to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. Any breach of these Terms by an entrant will void their entry. If a breach has occurred, but is discovered after the award of a prize, then the organisers may require the return of that prize. London Wildlife Trusts Web Privacy Policy applies to the competition and use of the National Park City Wildlife Photography Competition website.

You agree that if you are a winner or commended photographer you will take part in and cooperate fully with reasonable publicity and to the use of your name and photograph in such publicity, for example attendance at an awards event. These Terms and Conditions shall be governed and construed in accordance with English Law and will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

The participant must not do anything to cause injury or distress any animals or destroy their habitat. If the judges suspect that an entry has been achieved through cruel or unethical practices, including the use of live bait, the entry will be disqualified and London Wildlife Trust reserves the right to report the participant to the relevant authorities. The participant must act responsibly when taking photographs, and not put themselves or any person or animal at risk.
